“These times are tough. But our community is tougher. I won’t stop fighting for new and greater opportunities for every Oregonian.”
Priorities
HEALTHCARE AND REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS
Every Oregonian deserves access to high-quality, affordable health care, no matter who they are or where they live. I’ve seen what’s possible when we put people over profits. That’s why I’ve championed legislation to expand access to care, cap insulin copays, and hold pharmaceutical companies accountable for prescription drug pricing. I’ve led efforts to improve staffing ratios and oversight in health care facilities.
Health care also includes the right to make personal medical decisions. I strongly support access to the full spectrum of reproductive care, including STI testing, gender-affirming care, birth control, and abortion. I’ve consistently opposed efforts to limit these rights and will always stand up for Oregonians’ freedom to choose.
Health care is a human right. Whether it's accessing life-saving medication, preventive care, or reproductive services, I will continue to fight to ensure every Oregonian receives the care they need, when they need it.
EDUCATION
Every child deserves a strong start, a safe classroom, and schools that reflect the diversity and values of our communities. Our students and educators have weathered immense challenges, from disrupted learning to mental health struggles. I am committed to delivering world-class schools in every community.
That’s why I supported a historic $11.4 billion investment in Oregon’s K-12 public education system, alongside legislation to reduce class sizes and improve the learning environment for every student.
Higher education must also be within reach. I secured scholarships for new teachers at Western Oregon University and invested in local career and technical education, because whether students pursue college or skilled trades, they deserve opportunities to succeed.
HOUSING AND WILDFIRES
Everyone deserves a safe and stable place to call home. Addressing homelessness requires more than shelter. Addressing homelessness demands access to mental health care, addiction recovery services, and long-term housing solutions.
As your State Senator, I secured millions for local housing and homeless services, including funding for a navigation center and the conversion of a hotel into housing for the chronically unhoused. I also supported statewide policies that remove barriers to building affordable housing and emergency shelters.
ECONOMIC FAIRNESS
A strong Oregon economy must work for everyone, not just the wealthy. That means supporting small businesses, protecting the right to unionize, and making essential services, such as childcare, healthcare, and housing, affordable and accessible to all.
When families and communities thrive, so does our economy. I will continue to fight for policies that create equitable economic opportunities for all.
COMMON SENSE GUN LAWS
I respect the Second Amendment and come from a family of responsible gun owners. But gun deaths are on the rise, and the number one killer of children. I believe we must act swiftly to prevent gun violence in our communities.
I will always support straightforward and balanced policies that keep children, families, and neighborhoods safe.
